I am a narrative painter who focuses on issues of cultural mores and gender politics. Relying on strong memories and the process of meditative visualization, I tell stories that are rooted in my Persian culture, feminism, and magic. 

 

I incorporate animals with human subjects, in a fairy-tale-like atmosphere to induce a sense of nurturing grace. I consider my brushwork to be expressive, as I layer images to invite viewers into my world. My work is filled with a sense of courage and daring, hope, pain, longing, and ultimately triumph. They present images of magical empowerment and transformation.
